The short version
Encore is pay-as-you-go: there is no subscription, no recurring billing and nothing that auto-renews. “Cancelling” therefore means one of two things — cancelling a recent credit purchase within the cooling-off window, or closing your account entirely. Both are quick, and neither carries a fee.
Because we never take a repeating payment, you never have to cancel to stop being charged. You are only ever charged when you actively choose to buy credits.
No subscription to cancel
Encore does not sell subscriptions or memberships. You buy credit packs (or a custom top-up) when you want them, and credits never expire. There is no monthly charge, no minimum term and no auto-renewal to switch off.
If you simply want to stop using encore, you can — there is nothing running in the background and no further payment will ever be taken without you starting it.
Cancelling a credit purchase
Under applicable consumer law you have a 14-day cooling-off period after buying credits. If you cancel within those 14 days and haven’t spent the credits, we’ll refund the purchase in full. If you’ve used some of a pack, we refund the value of the credits you haven’t used, at the price you paid per credit.
Rendering a look delivers a digital service immediately and consumes those credits, so spent credits fall outside the cooling-off refund. The full detail — including how the balance is calculated — is in our Refund Policy.
Cancelling a Stylist / Expert Review
Booking a personal Stylist Review or an Expert Authentication & Styling Review reserves 20 credits up front. Whether that request can still be cancelled depends on its stage:
- Not yet assigned (status “Requested”): you can cancel it yourself at any time from the Reviews or Specialist page. Cancelling here issues an immediate, full refund of the 20 credits back to your balance.
- Once a stylist or expert has been assigned (status “Expert assigned”, “In review” or later): the request can no longer be cancelled from your side. A specialist has already taken on the work, so it runs through to completion and the reserved credits are not refunded for a self-initiated cancellation at this stage.
The only refund that applies after assignment is on our end: if a review can’t be completed and we mark it rejected, the reserved credits are refunded to you in full, exactly as described for account closures and service failures elsewhere on this page.
Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from Settings → Account. Closing your account permanently deletes your photos, looks and personal data and signs you out of every session. This action cannot be undone.
If you have unused credits and are still within the 14-day cooling-off window when you close your account, email us first so we can refund them — deleting the account on its own does not trigger a refund of remaining credits outside your rights under applicable law.
If we close an account
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches our Terms of Service. If we close your account for a reason that isn’t your fault, we’ll refund any unused, unexpired credits. Nothing here removes rights you have under applicable law.
How to cancel
To cancel a recent purchase, email support@encore.style from the address on your account, with a rough date of purchase. To close your account, use Settings → Account.
